Heavenly Hot Chocolate (dairy-free)

Are you looking for a dairy-free hot chocolate recipe that uses real dark chocolate?  Well, look no further! You’ll love this version that uses honey & cinnamon!

What you need:

3/4 cup almond milk (or non-dairy milk of choice)
1/4 cup of hot water
1 tbsp of cacao powder (or cacao nibs)
1-2 tsp of raw honey or maple syrup (to make vegan)
25 g of dark organic chocolate
cinnamon to sprinkle on top (optional)

What you do:

Gently heat almond milk and water over medium-low heat. Once it is warmed through (not boiling), add the cocoa powder, maple syrup or honey and dark chocolate. Whisk well to combine and continue heating until you’ve reached the desired temperature. If you are using cacao nibs add warmed milk and all ingredients in the blender and blend until frothy.

Sprinkle with cinnamon or shaved chocolate. Enjoy!

Notes:

Need more of a pick me up? add 1/4 cup of brewed coffee and make a mocha.

Make it minty by adding some peppermint extract.
